So far after installation this has worked out perfectly....helps keep me on top of the oil changes and preventive maintenance.

I should have purchased two as these digital hour meters can't handle the vibrations for long. This is one improvement that's a failure. The old style lasts forever.

Guess maintenance is gone
The meter on a DR trimmer SP was attached to the back short handle bar, then the wire was easily routed thru cooler parts of the motor to the plug wire for a 5 wrap. Works great and relieves worry about maintenance timing.

Q.How do you operate the meter ?
The only thing i can see may be the RPM reading The paper that came with the unit is a sheet showing how to try to install the meter . It does not tell how to operate the different functions supposedly offered . This unit belongs to a friend .
A.Thank you for your inquiry. The maintenance meter will run automatically, alerting you by blinking every 24 hours for 2 hours of running time. There is no "operation" necessary. I hope that this answers your question.

Q.Will engine and machine vibrations from wood chipper affect meter's performance?
A.Thank you for your question. Maintenance Meters are designed to withstand the vibrations created when a machine is in use. You should have no problem using this meter on your Chipper.

Q.Can the maintenance meter be reset to zero?
A.Our maintenance meters unfortunately do not have a reset function to change them back to 0 hours. If your concern is that it has reached the hour mark where it informs you to change the oil and it continues to inform you to do so after you have, this is not something to worry about. The meter will stop informing you to change the oil after you have run the engine for another two hours.
