The PRO XLSP Self-Propelled model has the muscle you need to handle your heaviest mowing projects. And with the self-propelled drive, you can power up hills, over rough ground, or simply trim on even terrain with maximum ease and comfort. Choose the walking speed that's right for you, from 0 to 3 mph. The world class DR engine features overhead valve design (OHV) and Maintenance-free Magnetron® electronic ignition for quick, dependable starts. The frame is mounted with 14" wheels for easy maneuvering. The PRO XL cuts a 22" swath, has 5 adjustable mowing heights (1.5" to 3.5"), and offers ergonomic handlebars for stress-free mowing.
The PRO XLSP has an offset frame design that lets you trim right up against foundations, fence lines and other obstacles with precise control. The front is fortified with a cast aluminum nose plate that protects the machine against damage from collisions. The electric-starting DR engine carries a 2 year warranty in residential use (90 days commercial).

Super-duty Cutting Cords
All DR Trimmer/Mowers accept super-thick 175 mil cutting cords—the thickest, longest-lasting in the industry (so you spend more time mowing and less time changing cords).
No Wrapping
Unlike most trimmers, the DR wide-body design prevents vegetation from wrapping and tangling around the trimmer head (which tends to stall the engine. Even in tall grass, the DR Trimmer Mower keeps on keeping on.

Patented Cord Attachment System
Cords go on in seconds, no tools required. Choose from 5 different cutting height adjustments (1.5" to 3.5") at the same time you attach your cords. No tools and no extra time required. Set the cutting height low for trimming, or set it high for off-lawn mowing of tall grass and weeds.
DR Engine
The legendary power, performance and durability of DR® engines make them excellent choices for use on our Trimmer Mowers. They are easy to start, comfortable to use, and feature a debris management system that protects the engine from whatever you kick up while you're cutting.
Cast Aluminum Nose Plate
The DR Trimmer/Mower's cast aluminum nose plate protects it against damage from collisions. Bumps and scrapes are inevitable when you're working, but you can ensure that they don't damage your machine.
Optional Beaver Blade for the big stuff
The optional Beaver Blade turns your trimmer into a chainsaw on wheels. Cuts trees up to 3" in diameter quickly and easily. It's the perfect way to take down stands of "weed trees" without bending over or dropping to your knees like you have to with a normal chainsaw.
Optional Quick-Lock Trimmer Head
Allows you to change your trimmer cord in just seconds—completely hassle-free! Cord is simply inserted into the head and is anchored in place by the unique gripping mechanism! Perfect for quick cord changes in the field, and for those who often trim dense thickets of weeds.
Optional DuraBlades for 3/8" Thick Brush
With our optional DR DuraBlades you can quickly swap out your cutting cords with metal blades, embedded in a high-tech polymer, that slice through woody material up to 3/8" thick!

Better Than Expected
Thanks to Ted I chose the right machine for our needs here in the Texas Hill Country. Plenty of power and navigated all the rocks we have on our land with ease.
The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread!
I just LOVE this thing! It does just what it says it is supposed to do. And it does it very well. Yes, the videos showing how well it takes care of light brush and very tall weeds not just grass are true. Very easy to handle and maneuver. Large wheels go over very uneven ground easily. Plenty of power. I like the quick lock mower head accessory better than the standard mower ball. But the mower ball is pretty easy to load too once you figure out which way to push in the cutting lines. The cutting line is extremely tough and lasts a long time. Very nice that it will run on idle by itself after releasing the mower and drive controls. The self propelled drive is easy to control on the handlebar and requires only a small and easy squeeze to select any forward speed you want. Goes well up steep hills too. Did I say self propelled is really nice?!?! I have a very rugged Stihl gas powered string trimmer with heavy line on it. It is strong and does a great job, but still cannot deal with weeds that are six feet high with stalks the size of pencils. The DR eats through it like a hungry Badger. The machine is built like a battleship with heavy gauge sheet and fasteners. Transmission is enclosed and protected. The Briggs engine has plenty of power, although the oil filler hole is so small it's almost silly, but a minor inconvenience. Electric start with auto choke works great. Available accessory three year warranty on top of standard two year warranty gives you five years which is very reassuring. And if you need to sell it to your wife (LOL), especially if she has tried to wrestle around your big monster DR Brush Mower before, driving this takes almost no effort. No, no one paid me to write this and I have no affiliation with DRField. :-) All in all an A+ from me!
Q.Does this model work on hillsides?
A.Thank you for your question. This can handle an incline up to 20 degrees. Past that will cause damage to the engine.

Q.I am 74 and wondered if this is gas powered. Have lots of fences and borders to trim?

Q.How steep a slope can this trimmer be usable? 20, 30 degrees? How does this unit ability to trim or mow a slope compare with the brush mowers such as the premier 26? The slope of my hill is approximately 30 degrees.
A.Thank you for your question. The Trimmer Mower should not be used on an incline over 20 degrees. We also do not suggest using a Field and Brush Mower on inclines over 20 degrees.

Q.Does it have power reverse? Will it pull a sulky? I don't walk so well any more.
