Yes, it does "block" the headlight when installed (Pro XL 30)
It is better than nothing. It keeps the snow from blowing in your face. But, snow sticks to it, you might consider having a windshield brush handy or tapping the plastic window when blowing snow. It doesn't "totally" block the headlight, but what light that does get past it is very diffuse, and does not shine to the front. Mine broke off last spring when I backed under the eave of the garage. Two pieces of the metal frame which hold the windows in place broke completely and I doubt they are thick enough to weld back on. Replacement parts are not available?

Not so great
It couldn't be installed per the instructions. The U bolts were too short. We made it work by eliminating on half the clamp. The shield is too tall to fit in a garage door. You have to take it off to put it away. The plastic horribly distorts your view. I bet this thing ends up in my dumpster eventually.
