Step up to our widest and most powerful snow blower—the DR PRO XL-30B—built to take on big jobs. This model features a powerful 12 HP OHV engine that is designed with cold-weather operation in mind. Plug-in electric starting puts an end to hard starts—just run an extension cord, plug in, and you get sure-fire starts without the expense and battery maintenance that comes with a normal electric-starting engine. EZ-Turn™ steering makes for hassle-free 180º turns.
With a 30" clearing width and an 8-speed transmission (6 forward speeds and 2 reverse), the PRO XL-30B is up to any job. And our integrated control panel puts everything within easy reach: gear shift, auger and drive hand levers, chute rotation and deflection, heated hand warmers, and an LED headlamp. This machine has it all and is ready for the toughest winter conditions.
Plug-in Electric Start
Using a standard 3-prong extension cord, plug in, push a button, and you're up and running! There is no battery that requires charging or maintenance. Recoil backup, with compression-release, makes for easy pull starts when you're away from a power source.
DR OHV Engine
This cold-weather engine (12HP, 420cc) is designed especially for extreme conditions and has the muscle to power through deep or wet snow.
EZ-Turn™ Steering
When you initiate a turn, the two axle shafts are free to drive independently and go wherever you guide the machine. The result is the ability to make tight, 180° turns, without wrestling the machine.
Integrated Control Panel
Controls for all functions are right at your fingertips: gear shift, auger and drive hand levers (once transmission is engaged, the auger control locks in so you can operate with right hand only), chute rotation/deflection, heated handwarmers, and LED headlight.

Friction Disc Transmission

2-Stage for Efficient Snow Removal
The serrated auger breaks up ice and compacted snow. Our Heavy-duty steel impeller, backed by a LIFETIME warranty (12” in diameter and constructed of 10-gauge steel) draws the loosened material up and out the chute. This 2-stage system creates a high-speed wind channel that throws snow up to 45 feet away!

Top Notch Snow Blower
We are pleased with our purchase. It is so much easier to handle than our old one & it even has hand warmers!!! We like the size and the width of the area it clears the snow. The price was very reasonable.

It’s definitely a powerhouse!
Pros: Absolute beast of an engine. Throws snow a mile. Serrated auger definitely chews up the snow. Cons: Although not the equivalent to assembling ikea furniture, the instructions lacked a bit when it came to cable placement and ideal settings. I’ve had issues with drive engagement. You also need to play close attention to cleat positioning to avoid grab and chatter. Unfortunately the heated grips always died after 3 uses as well. I’m not disappointed with it overall. It’s quality built and solid.
Happy Camper, so far
Lift Gate service was outstanding and shipping container arrived undamaged. Assembly was pretty straight forward, just need to take your time if you've never had a snowblower before. I've had the monster for only a month, and already have put it to good use on my 165 ft inclined driveway... made a manual snow shovel afternoon job a simple quick four pass effort...
Pro XL30B Snow Blower Review
I own four other DR machines, so needless to say I trust DR Products. I only rated the XL30B 4 Stars due to the lack of detailed assembly instructions, which I will explain below. 5 STARS - Lift Gate Service, Shipment Packing, Fit/Finish of machine, Superior paint finish, Very high quality components throughout, Robust steel overall, High quality factory assembly........Super high quality product! 5 STARS - Operation is fantastic......gets the job done! Designed very well, as all machine & engine controls are very accessible when wearing bulky gloves. (Perhaps the chute rotation rod could be a bit longer). 5 STARS - Engine Operators Manual (W420FS) well written and informative. 2 STARS - I am not a novice mechanic, but, for a novice, the Set Up Instructions need work. The installation of the Auger Cable and Drive Cable need more information and illustration detail. The same goes for both Steering Cables. There are detailed illustrations in the instructions for basic tasks as installing a bolt & nut! My suggestion would be to add more detail for the installation of the cable groups. DR has a great YOUTUBE video for the Tow Behind Leaf Vac assembly, perhaps make one similar for your Snow Blower Line?? One maintenance issue.....there is a zerk fitting on the auger transmission/gear housing. No mention in the manual for grease spec of interval to grease??? Perhaps I overlooked??? Overall, as a long time DR customer, I say you guys hit another home run with the XL30B!! Super high quality product.....no regrets! Thanks!!!
Q.Can the engine speed be adjusted or is it automatically set?

Q.Is this engine Made In USA or Imported? It does not say Briggs & Stratton, Kohler etc.
A.The DR OHV is manufactured for us overseas to our specifications. It is specifically designed for cold weather use. The air intake is designed to keep moisture out, the cover is designed to keep the block warm. Internal parts are designed to run under colder temps (startup). Q.What are the speed options?
A.Thank you for your interest in the DR Snow Blower. There are six 6 forward gears and two 2 reverse options. The speeds break down as follows: 1st gear-1.3mph 2nd gear-1.7mph 3rd gear-2mph 4th gear- 2.15mph 5th gear- 2.17mph 6th gear- 2.2mph Reverse 1 R1- 0.5mph Reverse 2 R2-1mph With this variety of speed options, you will be prepared many weather conditions and will be able to match the operator's preference.
