Power Steering makes the 15.5 PRO 26 a nimble performer. Each wheel has an independent disc brake that lets you turn on a dime. Plus, if you're mowing across slopes, you can feather the uphill brake to improve the machine's tracking and traction.
And, speaking of hills, the 15.5 HP PRO 26 is a great choice for hilly properties because it includes a full-pressure oil pump–so you can mow on slopes of up to 20° and be assured of plenty of good lubrication to all parts of the engine.
This engine also gives you the convenience of convenient turn-key electric starting, so you never have to leave the operator's position to start or stop the machine. This model's extra displacement (500cc vs. 344cc for our 10.5 HP model) also provides the extra "oomph" needed to power through saplings up to 2.5" thick!

Power Steering is Easy on You!
Our disc brake system provides Power Steering. Each wheel is equipped with its own brake, operated by a hand lever. Just squeeze the brake on one side, and the mower will pivot easily around that wheel. You're in control...without wrestling the machine!

With the PRO 26 15.5 HP model, you step up to a Briggs Intek Series OHV engine, with full-pressure oil pump (great for positive lubrication even on side slopes), spin-off oil filter, 500cc of displacement, cast-iron cylinder sleeve, and easy, turn-key electric-starting.

26" Pivoting Deck
The 26" deck is wide enough for effective clearing, but is still very maneuverable. Unlike rigid, fixed decks found on some mowers, the DR deck pivots from side to side, allowing it to follow the contours of rough terrain. This feature minimizes scalping and improves traction.
Superior Mulching
Our decks are enclosed on 3 sides, so that cut material is chopped and re-chopped, reducing grass and brush to a fine mulch. This means less material is left behind in your field, and none of the windrows you get with side-discharging mowers.
Gear-Driven Transmission: Lock it in and Rip it up!
Unlike hydrostatic drives, the DR's geared transmission lets you lock in your ground speed, leaving your hands free to steer the machine across uneven terrain (instead of fussing with touchy throttle controls as you go). With 3 forward gears, you can choose a fixed pace that's right for you.
Big, Lugged Tires for Sure Traction
No other brush mower has tires like this. They're the biggest (18" x 6.5" x 8"), they have superior lugged treads that pull the mower through or over just about anything, and they are sealant filled...which means they're highly resistant to puncture. Tough as nails, apparently!
Custom-Made Blade Spindle
Made of 1.375" thick cast iron with oversized double sealed bearings, the blade spindle is integrated into the deck housing and reinforced for vibration-free performance. Designed to provide years of maintenance-free use (and abuse!).
Commercial Grade Electric Clutch
Our industry-leading, self-adjusting clutch is designed for easy access and quick swapping out of optional attachments. After 245 hours of testing we only used up 10% of the life of the clutch. There are no cables to stretch or idler pulleys to get out of adjustment.
Attachments Add 4-Season Versatility
Thanks to our quick-change coupling system, the DR's brush mowing deck can be swapped—in just minutes—with one of our optional PTO attachments: a 42" finish mower, a 30" snow thrower, a wood chipper, or a 42" grader blade. It's like owning 5 machines in one!

I am 86 and this equipment was very easy to assemble. It is now winter and I won't get a chance to operate tin the field until late February. I will be glad to do another evaluation.at that time. Thanks for inquiring. The delivery was perfect.
Farm clearing
Works great but getting in desired gear is a bit tricky
It's a jungle out there!
We have some acreage in north Florida that has seen considerable damage from 3 hurricanes in the last 13 months. So after removing quite a few trees it has left us with a jungle of vines,weeds,saplings and what not. Way way to rough for a lawn mower. So we purchased this beast to see what it could do and we couldn't be happier. It will run over and through everything! It will let you know if you are biting off more than you or it in this case can chew. But that doesn't stop the machine from trying!
This mower is a beast!
I used this mower to clear over 1 acre of brush. It ATE EVERYTHING!! the self propelled feature allowed me to just WALK behind it. And using the differential braking made turning a snap. The floating mower deck meant that any uneven terrain (I had a lot) was not a problem. After using this mower quite a bit, I can recommend these without question!
DR Mower
The monster mower has been a pleasure to use. We have cleared a half acre of brush in 30 hours of use that would have taken 300 hours otherwise.
Q.What manuals come with this unit. See manuals for 14.5 hp but not 15.5 hp unit

Q.Will the DR Pro fit in the back of a short bed pickup (60" with the tailgate up). The specs list a length of 82", but it appears that the handles extend a lot. Will it fit facing forward with the handle assembly extending over the tailgate?

Q.I currently have a DR Walk-behind with a Briggs and Stratton Pro Series 500 CC motor Year 2017, family HB 5xs . 5002vv Serial # AT4009329 352781C. Is it possible to replace the Briggs and Stratton motor with a Kawasaki diesel motor with similar horsepower and if so how much would this cost ?

Q.Does this start only with electric start? My husband is concerned about not being able to start it if the electric start goes out. He's had this happen on some other machines.
