DR Chipper for 20hp DR Brush Mower
I bought the 20hp DR Mower and Chipper attachment in Nov of 2020. I used the mower with great success but only just now put the chipper together to clear and remove trees blocking the Mississippi River View for the shores of Nauvoo, IL. I have been AMAZED and the speed with which it chips the sand bar trees that we are cutting down to improve the river view. We cut the trees two years ago but they just grow back in spades. For every one we cut two years ago the stumps sprouts 6 more. This year we are cutting the trees and instead of letting them fall where we cut them, we are chipping them so we can walk. Unfortunately we also have to chip the trees we let fall two years ago to clear the area. The two year old growth is 10-20 ft long with small branches growing out of the stalk. The chipper takes the entire tree typically 2-3" in diameter and makes chips out of them in seconds. The self feed feature works great. The only problem we've encountered is if you don't keep the outfield port clear of chips, the flywheel packs up quickly and stalls the chipper. You then have to stop and manually clean it out. As long as you keep the port clear, it runs flawlessly. I've very happy with this purchase. The pictures shows the clumps and size we are dealing with.

Does the job
This is the best chipper I ever had. We bought it in 2022. No problems chipping anything around our property since then. With the chute of the chipper pointing into the front bucket of my tractor makes the whole chipping process painless. Can highly recommend it.
Much Better Than The Chipper I Had Before
After a couple of delays caused by the trucking company, my brush mower and chipper attachment arrived a few days later than expected. The hardest and most time consuming part of assembly was taking apart the wooden crate. However, I did run into a couple of issues when replacing the mower deck with the chipper attachment, most of which were due to receiving the wrong user manual for my model. Once the customer service rep and I figured that out, I was sent the correct manual. The machine is sturdy, the controls are readily accessible and easy to use, and the 15HP engine is terrific. The chipper works well and reduces a large pile of twigs to a small pile of mulch pretty quickly. I may update this review after I've used it some more.
Well worth the price.
I considered purchasing a less expensive model but the idea of being able to attach it to my Pro 26 with a 15hp engine and drive it where I need it was really appealing. At 61 years old, carrying a 200 pound chipper through forested property didn't sound like fun. I have had this chipper over a month now and really put it to work. With up to 2 inch branches from dozens of juniper and pinon trees, it has never faulted. Keep the chute clear, buy an extra belt, keep the blade adjusted and this should last many, many years.
chipper attachement for ProMax34
this chipper cuts very well. chip size is fairly small. It will cut whatever will fit into the inlet hopper. It works best with straight logs about 6ft long. Happy with the cut so far. largest diameter is about 4 inches. The only problems i had was: 1. during the assembly, the inlet hopper was a pain to get on due to how it is constucted with two pieces welded together. It does not make for a symtric fit on the inlet. The slots for the carriage bolts on the hopper itself may have been cut to the right size for the bolts, but after painting and coating, the carriage bolts will not fit. I had to use a file to widen the slots just a bit so that the carriage bolts fit flush. 2. The belt pullies are not smooth in the well where the belt fits in. I noticed wear lines appearing on the belt that seemed to line up with the rough areas on the pully. A smooth polymer coating or other insert would be better, or either a milled pully or injection molded part that is solid without the rough welds in the middle would definitely add to the reliability. The belt already had visible wear after only 2 days of running. I'm not using the chipper day in day out so it might last a while. To me this is going to be the pain point for people with this chipper. For the price point, I would not expect to have seen these problems. If there are upgrades available for the pullies, they should be rolled out ASAP and sent to customers.

Q.This chipper attachment is listed as compatible with the Pro 26 10.5HP, I'm wondering how well it works with the smaller engines. The review video sounds great, but he was using a 20HP engine to "go through wood like butter". How does it perform with 10.5 and 14.5 HP? Thanks
A.Thank you for your question. The performance is comparably the same. The chipper would still process the same size limbs regardless of which model is attached.

Q.I have the Pro 26 with the Honda 10.5HP engine. I understand this unit is mechanically compatible with my brushmower. My question is, has anyone actually tested the chipper with the Honda powered PRO 26 and if so, how did it perform?
A.Thank you for your question. If it's compatible it would perform to the same quality as one of our DR Power or B&S engines.
