I spill gasoline on myself and engine I am refilling every time I refill. How is this more safe than older simple gas can spouts?

This design is the only can I use for both gas and diesel. Sturdy and dependable design. The dispensing safety lock, once released and used a few times, is dependable and does what it is intended to do. A tip for initial movement/use of the lock is to apply a graphite/light oil to the slide mechanism. Highly recommend this product.
Frustrating to Dispense Fuel
The nozzle on these is one of the most difficult I have ever used. It is not easy to push the tab and hook the little hook onto a fuel tank (especially on a 5 Gallon tank) if it’s a plastic fuel tank like on a riding lawnmower. It usually takes so much force on the hook to open the nozzle that it bends the lip of the lawnmowers fuel tank and the nozzle unhooks and stops dispensing fuel. If safety is your top concern and you don’t mind being frustrated as you try to add fuel to something these cans might be for you.
