It is a terrific tool for finish grading and leveling of any loose material, gravel or stone on driveways, topsoil on lawns, horse rings, or playing fields. It is also very handy for removing loose debris such as small rocks or roots, and clumps of grass from lawns, gardens, or food plots. Also great for beaches!

Unless ground is very level it doesnt work well
Not impressed, if the ground is uneven (which is very likely) it doesn't really pick up much, was hoping to use it for sticks we have all over but so far its only been somewhat helpful on very level ground.. not worth the high cost.
Not a good idea
Assembly instructions are poor; very, very poor; photos are too small to clearly see details especially where the stop pins should be placed when rake is in transport mode or operating mode. The assembly manual should be 8.5 by 11, at least. All the hardware (nuts, bolts and washers) is packed loosely in one big bag, so one has to take time to sort all the pieces out. How much effort would it take to package hardware in individual bags? (A micrometer sure helps when sorting the items) Assembly should require two people, as some of the parts are heavy to lift by oneself. Assembly instructions should recommend the use of anti-seize for all the bolts and nuts to make disassembly in the future easy such as tine replacement. Operating instructions should tell the operator which way to turn the tine adjusting lever for lowering or raising the tines rather than the operator learning "on the job". The manual shows that the lever rotates in two directions but that is all. The tines are difficult to clean off. The tine assembly doesn't raise high enough to let the tines drop off the material being raked especially sticks and limbs. This rake is not one of DR's better items.
Good Rake, but terrible assembly instructions!
Good Rake... I use this in my yard to rake up pine needles and pine tree debris,. towing it with my UTV The reason for low stars is the assembly instructions are printed on 5 x 7 paper and have incredibly small writing and low-res B&W photos, which makes it hard to read or understand. ***I would strongly suggest placing a larger high-resolution color PDF Manual online***.

The print in the instruction book was small and hard to read. The rake works great. Do not like to purchase and put together.

Q.Would this rake collect large clumps of dead grass after a dethatching?

Q.Will this work well to rake up small fallen branches in a wooded area?
A.Thank you for your question. It will work to rake up some branches. Please be mindful that when raking through a wooded area that the debris will build up quickly. This is best when used for finishing up grading or leveling, removing loose debris from lawns, gardens or food plots. Or to mix compost or mulch into soil.

Q.Is the rake adjustable to different angles?
A.Thank you for your interest in the DR Tow-Behind Landscape Rake. This is easily adjustable to different angles. While locked in the transport position, remove the hitch pin and retaining pin that locks the tine assembly to the frame. Rotate the tine assembly to the desired angle then replace the hitch pin and retaining pin. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
