Carbide-tipped steel teeth make for smooth grinding
9 carbide-tipped cutting teeth (replaceable) are mounted to a ½" cutter head that supplies tremendous rotating inertia. Cutter head is housed in a protective directional steel shroud which shows exactly where the cutting teeth are making contact, while protecting operator from thrown debris. Teeth are tipped with mining-grade tungsten carbide...the same material used in the mining industry to drill through rock.
Cutting teeth are easy to replace
The full set of cutting teeth can be easily replaced in about 15 minutes (1 bolt for each of 9 cutting teeth).
Oversized tires roll over rough terrain
These lugged high-flotation tires make for easy transport and give the machine full support during operation. Large size (15" x 4.75") helps to keep machine elevated over woodchips during operation.
Long-life machined clutch
Hand lever increases RPM to smoothly engage the clutch and cutter head. Clutch and pulley are machined from a single piece of steel to reduce wear. Mounted on radial ball bearing for smooth operation and exceptional durability.
Hand brake keeps machine in place
4.5" drum and hand brake with mechanical caliper operated from left hand grip. Brake locks one wheel in place providing a pivot point for sweeping cut motion.
World-class engine provides unmatched durability
The Subaru engine is the first air-cooled engine in the world to use auto-style overhead cam technology. Steel cam and gears replace rubber timing belts and plastic gears found in other engines, for longer engine life. Overhead cam design...cast-iron cylinder sleeve…and superior lubrication.
Flip-up belt cover
Protects the belt and pulleys, then flips out of the way for easy access. Self-adjusting belt tensioner eliminates need for operator adjustment.
